Can I lose weight by drinking green smoothies?
Its true that some people will lose weight when participating in the green smoothie challenge. It will of course depend on what other meals you are consuming during the challenge. If weight loss is a goal, then let me know when you register and tips will be given to support your goal.
Can I eat other food during the 7 days of the challenge.
Yes, you can. Each green smoothie can either replace a meal or a snack depending on your goals for doing the challenge. If you wish to lose weight, you can replace breakfast or lunch with your smoothie. if you are wanting to maintain or even increase weight as well as enjoy the nutritional benefits, then you can enjoy a green smoothie as a snack before breakfast or lunch.
Does the green smoothie challenge detox the body?
You will be increasing your intake of chlorophyl, which has natural cleansing properties as well as improving breath & body odour. for a full detox however, you will need to eliminate the foods and drinks which are toxic to the body. Foods & drinks like refined & processed foods, including sugar. The removal of caffeine, chocolate, bread & dairy can be helpful during this time, but not essential.
Will I need a blender?
Yes you will. I recommend a high speed blender that can liquify fruits and the leafy greens to a smooth consistency. A vitamix, nutribullet or similar will be perfect.
